USA Gold Medalists swarmed the streets of New York City this past week and TopPix Autographs was there for all of the action!
On Monday, gymnast Shawn Johnson appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. As Shawn left, she was nice (and cute!) enough to sign lots of autographs. Check out the video below:
On Tuesday, another American Olympic gold medalist was on The Late Show with David Letterman. Decathlete Bryan Clay signed tons of autographs for fans, even posing for pictures while holding up his gold medal! Here is a video of Bryan posing for photographers holding a discus.
On Wednesday, it was time for the beach…volleyball, that is! Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman. Even though the girls didn’t sign following the show, TopPix Autographs made sure to track down Misty before the night was over. Check out the video of Misty signing at her NYC hotel.
On Thursday, Michael Phelps made an appearance at a local YMCA. Check out the video as he signs for one adoring female fan. Even her dog was happy to see the 14-time gold medal winner!
Celebutante Kim Kardashian, as well as her sisters Kourtney and Khloe, made several appearances in New York City this week to promote Kim’s debut acting role in Disaster Movie. Kim, with mom Kris in tow, made her way to The Today Show on Monday morning. Even though Kim had cut her toe the night before on a hotel table, she gladly signed autographs on her way into the interview.
Later that day, Kim arrived for a taping of TheLate Show with David Letterman, making sure to sign autographs as she left.
On Tuesday, the Kardashian sisters appeared on The Tyra Banks Show before heading to TRL. Upon arriving, Kourtney promised the waiting paparazzi that Kim was going to do “fabulous” on Dancing With the Stars. Check out the video of the Kardashians arriving and signing autographs.
The 2008 U.S. Open arrived at Flushing Meadows this week for qualifying rounds. The first week of the U.S. Open is a fantastic time to get autographs from the top tennis players in the world.
One of the highlights was meeting the newly-crowned #1 player in the world, Rafael Nadal. We have had many autograph experiences with Rafa, and as always, he graciously signed for the many fans who adore him.
Marat Safin, a well-known Russian player with an equally infamous temper, had a tough practice session with Tomas Berdych. After Marat completely lost his cool and busted one racket in half, we decided it may be a good idea to keep the video rolling. After a couple of points, Marat was back at it, and had a complete meltdown. Check out the video for all the action!
On the women’s side, Serena Williams practiced in Louis Armstrong Stadium amidst many onlookers. Check out the video of Serena hitting a few balls, as well as signing autographs.
Another fantastic signer is Jelena Jankovic, the current #2 female player in the world.

Jordin Sparks, the winner of the sixth season of American Idol, stopped by Good Morning America on Wednesday. After finishing her performance, Jordin put her hood up and walked past her waiting fans and across the street to the Millenium Hotel.
Some of the more experienced collectors decided to wait a little while longer, hoping Jordin would be leaving the hotel soon. Sure enough, after about 15 minutes, Jordin exited the hotel.
One autographer asked Miss Sparks to sign, but was denied when she saw that he had a blue Sharpie, saying, “I don’t sign in blue.” Being quick and resourceful, TopPix Autographs pulled out a black Sharpie, and Jordin was happy to sign. Knowing that certain celebrities seem to be “allergic” to blue Sharpies, it’s always a good idea to carry a black…just in case!
Kiely Williams, Adrienne Baillon and Sabrina Bryan stopped by TRL on Monday, and TopPix Autographs was there! The Cheetah Girls were happy to “slow down” for their fans, even taking turns with a Sharpie to make sure everyone got an autograph.

Billy Bob Thornton’s hillbilly-rock group, The Boxmasters, stopped by J&R Music on Monday to sign copies of their new CD. Check out the video below to watch Billy Bob sing lead vocals on The Boxmasters’ hit, “The Poor House.”

Malcolm McDowell, star ofthe Stanley Kubrick cult classic, A Clockwork Orange, signed autographs and took pictures with fans at the Walter Reade Theater in New York City on Saturday. McDowell was attending a Q & A session following the screening of his upcoming movie, Never Apologize, and TopPix Autographs was there to document it all for you!

Ben Stiller made an appearance at “The Early Show” and was happy to see his fans. Take a look…
After getting Ben Stiller to autograph several items, we made our way to Jack Black’s hotel to catch him on his way to TRL. He was gracious enough to sign, cracking jokes the whole time.
The only items that Jack was reluctant to autograph were guitar pickguards. He refused to sign them at first, but told the two collectors that asked, “I will sign your guitar parts, but I have to draw d**ks on ‘em.” He proceeded to sketch his representation of the male genitalia on their pickguards and add his initials.
TRL was our next stop, and we were lucky enough to get Robert Downey, Jr. to sign several of our Iron Man items as he walked through the large crowd of fans.
A few hours later, we stopped by Robert Downey, Jr.’s hotel as he was making his way to BET’s 106 and Park. Once again, Robert was nice enough to sign for the few collectors that were waiting.
By the end of the night, we weathered the Tropic Thunder storm with lots of autographs from these awesome A-List stars. For autographs by Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., and many, many more…check out TopPix Autographs!
